Auf Onderon gibt es die Redewendung "wütend wie in Arkonok" und das aus gutem Grund: Obwohl sie wie domestizierte Herdentiere wirken, stellen ihre unberechenbaren Wutanfälle täglich ein großes Verletzungsrisiko für ihre Tierbändiger dar, und nur die widerstandsfähigsten Pferche können sie halten. Arkonokfleisch gilt auf Onderon als Delikatesse, allerdings eher aus Respekt vor den Besitzers als wegen des Geschmacks (der berühmte Feinschmecker Ton-Zek Aimar beschrieb es als "gerade noch okay" und "ziemlich grobkörnig").
